This 14K yellow gold vintage engagement ring is from the 1940s. It has five diamonds of .13 carat total weight, set in white gold. The .09 carat round center diamond sits in a lovely illusion setting. The ring is currently a size 6, and can be resized by your local jeweler. This vintage engagement ring is circa 1930s. The mounting is platinum and the center is a "light one carat" diamond that weighs 0.97 ct. It has an antique Old European cut with less brilliance (sparkle) but more fire (play of colors) than a modern brilliant cut diamond. It is an eye clean SI1 in clarity and near colorless I in color grade. There are six round and matching full cut side diamonds that are 0.36 ct total weight with I1 clarity and I-J color. The diamonds look bright white. The ring is a size 8 but can be easily resized. The retail replacement value on this ring is $4910.00 and the independent appraisal is included when purchased.

You know the saying "A Diamond is Forever". Well, it's somewhat true but not entirely. From a physical standpoint a diamond ring may last forever and that's evident by the number of vintage engagement rings and vintage diamond rings that are on the market today. These rings are in great shape and have managed to most likely outlast the marriage. That's the part that isn't true. If a diamond is meant to last forever symbolizing a forever marriage, why is it that the divorce rate is around 50% ? I certainly don't have all the answers to that problem, but I just find it interesting that the symbol that is chosen to signify marriage is a diamond, which does last forever, but the marriages tend to fade away after 5 or 7 years. Just a thought...

Look at this ring and tell me how much you would expect to pay in a retail store? $700 or maybe $1000? It's made of 14k gold and dates back to the 1960's. The white pearl that you see on the top is a 7.5mm genuine pearl. The diamonds around the edge are G-H in color (which is very good) The best part about this ring is the price that it is selling for on the internet. Its selling for $449.00! What a bargain.
