The 4 Cs of Diamond Shopping Part II

Continuing on our series about the 4c's of Diamond shopping, here is part 2.

2.  Cut -  The cut is possibly the most important factor is assessing the value of a diamond ring.  The cut does not refer to the shape of the diamond itself, but rather how many facets it has.  This of course will depend on the original stone.  The cut of a stone will determine how the light bounces off the facets.  If each facet is angled just a touch different, the light will bounce off the ring in a different way and cause it to look different when examined.  A more experienced diamond cutter will likely do a better job at cutting a diamond just perfect, whereas a poor cutting job will show in that the diamond won't sparkle like it should.
